How can the universe be at least 46 billion light years across but only 14 billion years old?

This question is important only because it reintroduces a different way of thinking about the universe Size is an illusion. The universe only shows the appearance of growing larger faster than it should. In reality, its the beautiful shape which is maintained. The above picture in principle shows a two dimensional shaped self similar spiral as viewed from the top or plan view and not a manifested three dimensional sphere. Do focus on realm of principles, which is immutable, and not the realm appearances, which is misleading. The universe is about shape maintenance for the sake of beauty. Why? Because it is the conjugate of the Immutable. The universe appears - must appear - fresh and beautiful always. Yes, there are forces greater than science. Mathematics stands above science and is a force which is greater than science. Science stops when scientists are stumped. Where science stops, mathematics takes over. Science is directly linked to the application of material power. Are there greater powers than material power? The answer to that question is a resounding “yes there are powers which are greater than material power”. The universe is not a physical phenomenon.  It is in fact a purely spatial phenomenon with a sprinkling of colours thrown in for good measure.  The universal measuring scale is based not on natural numbers but from the logarithmic scale, which is evidenced by structures great and small in the universe.  Structures that exist in the universe behave in nonlinear trajectories rather than linearly.
